Self-Improvement. What is self-improvement? The term is defined as "a self-guided improvement -economically, intellectually, or emotionally- often with a substantial psychological basis." People may take classes, join groups, or like myself, read books, articles, and blogs with their own focus, techniques or beliefs.
Now, I'll sum it up in my own terms. Self-improvement, to me, is constantly looking for more/new ideas of doing something with a focus of constantly getting better. Whether it's a habit, hobby, or life in general, we're looking to improve & make forward progress. It's about looking at something from new perspectives. Broaden your horizons and realize that you can always learn something more that can benefit you in ways you never could have thought on your own. I view self-improvement as not only the key to success, but also the key to happiness.
Self-fulfillment. "The fulfillment of one's hopes and ambitions." When you're constantly looking to improve in order to meet your goals to set new ones, you're also looking for self-fulfillment. These two terms go hand in hand. When you're improving, achieving and moving forward, you're going to desire more because you've now found out that hard work pays off.
Now, going back to the Why?. I've created this site for people who are motivated to do better, be better, and get better. The motivation for self-improvement isn't always easy to locate within yourself. After all, nobody can do the work that YOU need to get done. Everybody goes through times where they're just unmotivated to do anything. It happens to the best of us, but sometimes, reading the simplest quotes or paragraphs & articles could help give you a jolt and put you back on track! That's why this site exists. I motivate myself, by doing my best to help motivate and guide others. I'm passionate about self-improvement with a slight(okay, ...maybe a little more than slight) focus on fitness. I believe that if you're looking to get the most out of life, self-improvement and striving to be better each and every day, is the way to do so.
